Community Support

Though I don’t work for these organizations, I believe deeply in the work they do. Like the nonprofit communities I collaborate with, these groups are committed to justice, protection, and long-term change, and like many others, they are vulnerable to shifts in policy and funding. I encourage donations to any or all of them, as you’re able.

Black Lives Matter Los Angeles

From their website: “Black Lives Matter emerged from the hearts and minds of our three co-founders: Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi. It came to life right here in Los Angeles, where the first chapter was birthed. Our herstory is an important telling of the emergence of Black Lives Matter, and Black Lives Matter-Los Angeles specifically, as a reclamation of and recommitment to Black radical organizing and Black freedom struggle.”

Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition

From their website: “As a Native-led nonprofit, the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition depends on your support to ensure the Coalition Tribes can continue to protect the Bears Ears National Monument.”

Human Rights Campaign

From their website: “We are fighting harder than ever before to defend the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people. Join us.”

ACLU

From their website: “The ACLU dares to create a more perfect union — beyond one person, party, or side. Our mission is to realize this promise of the United States Constitution for all and expand the reach of its guarantees.”

The Trevor Project

From their website: “The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people.”

Heifer International

From their website: “We work in 21 countries around the world alongside local farmers and business owners. We support farmers and their communities as they mobilize and envision their futures, provide training so they can improve the quantity and quality of the goods they produce, and connections to market to increase sales and incomes.”
